Dr. Syed Noman Haider

Syed Noman Haider is the youngest of six children of Ahsan and Huzabra Hyder. He spent his early childhood in Islamabad before moving to Karachi at the retirement of his father. He studied at BVS Parsi High School, DJ Sind Govt. Science College and finally pursued a medical degree from Dow Medical College from where he graduated in 1994. He then moved to the United States where he received his training in Internal Medicine in Detroit, Michigan; Infectious Disease at University of Louisville, Kentucky and then went into practicing Internal Medicine in North Carolina. In 2007 he accepted a faculty position at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He then went for a special training in coagulation disorders at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and came back to assume the directorship of Memphis Hemophilia Treatment Center. After completing a three-year Hematology and Oncology fellowship training program at UTHSC, Memphis, he is currently doing an advanced one-year fellowship at Venderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee.


Dr. Noman Haider possesses a special enthusiasm for promoting education and awareness in Pakistan and because of this very objective and passion; he teamed up with Dr. Irfan and others in starting the institution of Ahsan Memorial Foundation. He is a devout lover of Iqbal and Iqbaliaat and carries a particular interest in history and environmental preservation. He enjoys travel to historical sites and natural wonders. His wife Nadia is an architect and they share four wonderful children.
