Spiritual Democracy

The innovative solution for individuals, organizations
and governments

    A 3-hour workshop by
Khurram Ali Shafique, Winner of the Presidential Iqbal Award for Iqbal: an Illustrated Biography (2006)

Iqbal categorically stated that the ultimate ideal of Islam was spiritual democracy. He did not explain the concept because he didn’t need to. Back in 1930, the concept was widely understood not only within the Muslim world but also outside – especially in America. It goes to the credit of the subsequent generations that they have completely obliterated this cherished ideal which had been upheld by so many cultures as the only hope for their future – i.e., our present.

The purpose of this workshop is to show that the ideal has survived in Pakistan against all odds, and can be redeemed for achieving spectacular success personally, socially, politically and globally.

In this three-hour workshop, we shall try to understand the concept of spiritual democracy through interactive exercises based on the writings of Iqbal, Mary Parker Follett, C. R. Das, Waheed Murad and many others.

Rediscover spiritual democracy from primary sources and regain hope.
