Introduction to Baange Dara and the circumstances of its poetry in the form of a personal journey of Allama Iqbal by Khurram Ali Shafique.

 

The program gave an overview of the poems in Baange Dara subtitled "bachoN kay liye". It appears from the subtitle that these poems are not for adults and only intended for the kids. However, that is not so. Each one of these poems has specific theme in the context of Iqbal's thought. These nine poems cover major themes that Iqbal later covers in more depth in other poems like Tulu e Islam. In a space of these short poems that many kids memorize, Iqbal manages to convey the essence of his message. Even if the kids later on do not go to his other poems, they have taken from these few poems major thrust of what Iqbal wants each person to understand.

These themes were later on pointed out in some other poems of Baange Dara.
